Gaga gone too far?

As most of you probably have noticed, Lady Gaga's new video is just a little bit over the top. Acting as some sort of queen alien who gives birth to many mini Gagas, who I think one is meant to be evil due to the skull?? She really has pushed the boundary of her already know out there persona. She regularly shocks the public in strange and bizarre outfits, such as her dress which was entirely made out of meat. She says that her new video for 'Born This Way,' was heavily influenced from one of her idols, Salvador Dali.

All I can say is, is this just a little bit to Gaga? Even for the lady herself? Have a look and see what you think - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wV1FrqwZyKw

Junk Jewels

Just thought I'd show you a few pictures from 'junk jewels.' I saw their stand at clothes show live a couple of years ago and their jewellery is lovely. I brought a gorgeous gold necklace from them which had a pink rose on it and a tiny delicate butterfly. They do really cute pieces, which are very feminine and girlie. Check them out, http://www.junkjewels.co.uk/#/shop/4533407748

This is the kind of stuff they make. What do you think?

If only money grew on trees....

I'm having a minor problem at the moment, i have ZERO money and want SO many clothes. I keep browsing the net, websites such as ASOS, Topshop, Miss guided etc and i can't afford any of the stuff i want, nightmare of being a bloody student. Below are a couple of things that i have been dreaming about...

ASOS £35

Topshop £50

Topshop £50

Oh and then there's the small problem of really, really wanting to go to V festival as the line up looks AMAZING! Usually only go to Reading Festival as its my home town but this year I'm feeling a little braver. Then there's the girls holiday that i just have to go to, missing last years nearly killed me, worst thing ever. All this holiday talk is getting me very excited! eek.

Review - Black Swan

Darren Aronofsky’s Black Swan is a twisted tale of a desperate ballerinas life to make it to the top, playing ‘swan queen’ in the dance schools production of ‘Swan Lake.’ Natalie Portman who plays the main character, Nina Sayers captures just the right amount of desperation and sexual naivety needed for this vulnerable character. Nina Sayers a young New York dancer fighting for Swan Queen, gets the part, but however the problem lies in the fact that she is perfect for the role of the white swan, capturing grace and innocence but struggles to portray the black swans passion and ragged poise, which fellow dancer, Lily (Mila Kunis) captures effortlessly.

The story develops into Nina making herself believe that Lily is plotting to take away the main role from her. The twisted and sexual relationship between Nina and Lily is electrifying, and reflects Nina’s sexual vulnerability in the film. Nina starts to trick herself making her think that she is not good enough for the role and starts to portray paranoia, developing mental health tendencies. This isn’t helped my her pushy and over protective mother whom is trying to live her long lived dream of being a dancer through her daughter. Nina starts to hallucinate, involving a scene with the dance mirrors where see sees herself turn around in the mirror but in reality she hadn’t.

Black Swan is an amazing movie, best I have seen in a long time. With its complicated and yet fascinating story line, involving desperation, vulnerability and sexual naivety it has all the right elements for a once in a life time film. Portman is the perfect choice to portray Nina’s under lying twisted issues. A dark tale with a hint of innocence making it even more dark, with elements of manipulation and corruption it truly is a beautiful film. Aronofsky has created this film brilliantly capturing the desperation and reality of dance and ambitions, showing the dangers of going too far for what you want. Truly excellent.

Dazed&Confused here i come....

Hello all, well as you may tell from the heading of this post i am in fact the luckiest girl in the world! I have managed to secure a months intern ship at Dazed&Confused in May - thanks to my Uncle who has a connection to a lady who works in the PR section.

I am obviously so, sooo excited but i can't help but be terrified! What if it all 'devil wears prada'??? That wouldn't be good, but i'm sure it won't be and i just need to man up. I'll probably be stuck with boring jobs like being the runner, getting coffee and tea for everyone, doing mundane paper work etc...but STILL, how exciting? Its another experience to add to my CV and help me work out for myself what i want to do in life?? Which i still really don't know, at the moment i'm too occupied in watching Gossip Girl (which i only started from season one a few weeks ago!) than concentrating on what i'm going to do with my life! Not good.

Any way i'm off to try and attempt some uni work that's desperately needs to be done.

Sorry i haven't written!

I feel so bad for abandoning my blog for so long, not good. But anyway alot has happening since io last wrote! Summer was amazing, spent time with family, friends and the boyfriend, was lovely - seems like a life time ago now though!
Started my second year at uni which has been...challenging to say the least. First semester was pretty hectic! However xmas and new years was one to remember, lots of Alcohol, gossip and presents! :) Starting uni again in the new year was a shock, i think I've forgotten how to use my brain, however its nice to have stuff to do. We're off the this exhibition a the Barbican next week, its called, 'Future Beauty,'(picture on the left) it should be lovely, the pictures look good. For our assignment we have to write a review on it that may be a bore!! We've also got to do a presentation on the 'fashion displayed,' which seems quite interesting, about how women can become just a vehicle of display. However what's on the top of my mind at the moment is getting some bloody work experience!! ahhh, how!? where?! Also i've just started gossip girl from season one and i'm ashamed to say that i watched the WHOLE of season one in two days!! ekk. Not good. Any way i should go and do something productive now, i'll make sure i write soon!
